Combat Village is a training area located in the northeast sector of the U.S. Marine Corps Reservation, Quantico Virginia. There are 2 IOF-standard ("Combat Village East and West") maps. The 1:15,000 scale maps with 5m contour intervals were field checked in 1996 and drafted in OCAD by Mark Dominie.
The terrain consists of reclaimed farm land abandoned earlier this centruy and now used for land navigation and tactical training exercises by the U.S. Marine Corps. A mix of pine and hardwood forest ranging from slow to fast runnability; minimal to moderate climb; bland to intricate contour detail. Area was used for the 1997 U.S. Champsionships and the 2001 Intercollage Champsionships. Close to Prince William Forest Park, the site of the 1992 North American Championships and 2002 U.S. Champsionships.
Approximately 30 miles south of Washington, DC. Take I-95 South to Exit 148. Turn right on Russell Road and right into the Quantico Marine Base on MCB-1. Go 2 1/2 miles from the gate entrance and turn right onto MCB-1 from the MCB-1/MCB-4 intersection. Go approximately 6 miles and follow O-signs to turn right into meet location.
