Quantico Orienteering ClubServing the Orienteering Community in the Greater Washington,DC(Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC) General Information Quantico Orienteering Club events always include a course suitable for beginners. Registration is usually open from noon to 2 pm EDT or 11 am to 1 pm EST; beginner's instruction is the first half hour. Regular registration fees are $6 for individual club members and visitors who are members of USOF or other clubs with reciprocal agreement with QOC, and $10 for non-members. For each additional map that a group used, there is a charge of four dollars. Group rates To join the Club... ask at an event for more information. We will need the following information from all members: Name, Address (street, city, state, zip), Home Phone, Work Phone, E-Mail Address, Date Joined, and additional family names if a family membership. Membership fees are $20.00 per individual for 12 months or $30 for family. Membership Form
Origin of Club Past presidents and volunteers of the year winners. Trim Courses There are two trim courses in Maryland that were done as Eagle Project for the Scouts.
They are Hashawha - Bear Branch Park in Westminster, MD (map is 1:5000, done in 2005
using Adobe. There is no fee to use the park which is near the center of Westminster on the Rt. 140 highway,
exit north on Maryland Rt. 97 for 3 miles. Turn right on John Owings Rd. After a mile, turn
left at the Hashawa-Bear Branch entrance sign. In a few hundred yards, turn right to the
Bear Branch Nature Center which has permanent course maps. Dave Linthicum helped the Scout)

If you are willing to donate an hour of your time to help
with a local event, please register your name and phone number with the
vice president below and someone will call you to work out the best
time for you to participate. All jobs done at meets are easily
learned, and there is always plenty of time left for Orienteering!
